Teeth are lost for a variety of reasons and a big part of our practice is replacing those missing teeth with dental implants. Dental implants can often be placed on the same day as tooth removal. If bone loss is severe, however, a bone graft may be needed at the time of extraction to prepare the area for an implant. Bone grafting at the time of extraction will prevent the loss of bone volume and will make implant placement more predictable with a higher success rate.
